Motivation
We wish to empower clients – Right Holders – to assist themselves and communities as per Black Business Investment Plan to empower them and their communities. They will get the requisite skills and ability to participate in this fishing sector.
Our fishing communities and small entities suffer due to lack of skilled trainers in the fishing industry. Hence the importance that we can uplift and empower all fishers, in the various fishing communities / towns.
Such an undertaking, venture, will ensure objectives as per Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF) policies and FRAP 2015 / 2016. Skills training for the directors / members / employees will ensure transformation can occur at higher rate, more educated decisions as due to lack of skills in the fishing industry our communities suffer economically and Right Holders still suffer as factories – FPE’s still unlawfully deprive them of income – below market price – unlawfully sign into agreements / contracts.
The communities will also benefit as skills training and empowerment to Black Business with skills training to them as underneath.
Skills empowerment will result in food security, and sustainable fishing. We believe this is also DAFF’s objective and vision that less individuals are reliant upon the marine sources.
Our goal is to educate clients as in the past DAFF had to remedy problems between Right Holders and factories – FPE’s. This applicant does not fall in the same trap as those new applicants under FRAP 2005 and FRAP 2011, not being compliant with DAFF policies & – objectives, marine law, SARS, CIPC, being cash strapped at all times and being paid below market prices. This trend still continues with those awarded rights under those FRAP and still do not comply with Section 6 – Transformation & 7 – Job Creation of application forms – FRAP 2015 /2016. The clients also wishes to uplift their communities with skills programs.
Nautic Africa Academy with The Skills Academy will partner to ensure our community are skilled to benefit through job creation as the clients wish to acquire a vessel in the foreseeable future through partnership with other prospective right holders. This is also a commitment as per Business Plan submitted in FRAP 2015 / 2016 application and indicate their dream to participate in this industry they were excluded from for so long.
Through a Skill Development Facilitator the needs for scare skills training are being sourced by the relevant AGRI-SETA and Cathsseta, training will be provided to the fishing communities that will be identify where the need is for assistance during the time they are not able to make ends meets and prevent poaching.
